Our first safari is in Wilpattu in the north of Sri Lanka. We see deer, birds, a crocodile and a jackal, but no elephants or bears. According to the experts, it had rained too much for that. Deer, peacocks and the Ceylon fowl are common in the wild. We mainly see peacocks and deer, in large numbers in all parks. Very useful for the guides if there are no elephants for a while. The most beautiful photo of the day: the Blue Peacock (Pavo cristatus).
